I used to play these shows on Friday night
They used to put my name up in marquee lights
And all my friends had bright shiny Friday eyes
Andrea Swensson said that I was the shiny eyes king of friday night

but then suddenly all my friends got girlfriends
and they all started staying on the weekends
and everybody stopped paying attention
but I'm trying not to get too bogged down in it
